Tanzanian singer and former TPF star Peter Msechu has undergone Gastric bypass surgery to help deal with his weight struggles.

Speaking in a Twitter Space about Health Living, Msechu confessed that he has so far lost 27Kgs after the Gastric bypass surgery.

He mentioned that his bad eating habits are the reason behind his weight loss struggles - something that has troubled him for years.

At one point he was weighing more than 150kgs.

“When I was young I used to tell my parents that I would buy my own sacks of rice so that I can eat the way I want. I used to see this as a very valuable thing but in the long run, this made me gain a lot of weight,” he said.

Gastric bypass surgery is a lifesaver for most people even those with extreme obese conditions could go for it.

Msechu further stated that he used to eat three plates of Rice and Chips in one meal. He also says that he loved sugary things.

"It reached a point when I saw my kids being given good food I also wanted that food, in the end, this gave me health issues.

On January 27. 2023 Msechu was among the obese patients who got an intragastric balloon to help them lose weight.

In the process, he lost 30Kgs. However, he gained the weight back after the balloon was removed.

Other celebrities who have undergone the same surgery are; Willis Raburu, Big Ted, and Wema Sepetu among others.
