Former news anchor Salim Swaleh has shared a video begging President Ruto for forgiveness. In 2023, the former NTV Swahili anchor landed a job as the Director of Communications in the office of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

Before that, he had been elected at Nakuru county as the ICT, e-Government, and public communication Chief Officer.

In June this year Swaleh was arrested over an alleged fraud at the Prime Cabinet Secretary's office. In a statement made in June, the arrests were as a result of a tip-off that alerted the security, who mounted intense surveillance  at the Railway office to disrupt the reported nefarious acts of impersonation and misuse of the facility by the fraudsters.

In the latest video, Swaleh has now begged President Ruto for forgiveness, saying he has tried reaching him and sending people to him without success.

"Good morning your excellency, I hope this video finds you well," he started off the video

"I have recorded this because I've tried reaching you for the last couple of weeks. I've sent several people to talk to you but with no answer. Your excellency you know, you've been my father figure for the longest time. We build trust between us and for the last one and a half years, I served you with trust."

He went on to say that he is sorry for what happened "I am remorseful about it."

Sawleh said that last one month has been difficult to him and was even unable to walk out "I lost everything in a blink of an eye."

"Please find it in your heart to please forgive me. "

Swaleh said due to the bad publicity he got, it is almost impossible to get another place to work in.
