Singer Avril has opened up on her more than 18 year-old battle with acne.
The actress opened up to Chpt.co Aug 22, about her struggle with acne saying it pushed her to start her own beauty brand to help people battling the same condition.
"Not even 18, probably longer. But I always had an issue with my skin here, issue with my skin there. But in a very big way as much as my everything was supposed to be an extension, for the Avril brand, in very many ways I was also looking for solutions for myself, for my acne. "
This inspired her venture into business to also help herself.
"Every single time I try products, either the problem would be accelerated, or it would work for a little bit and then I have to go back "
She detailed how she turned a skin problem into an opportunity
"The moment I went the natural way into the shea butter and cocoa butter things started working out.
Avril has always shared photos of her skin without makeup and how scars affected her.
"It's crazy you know. When I started learning about these things, to be very honest I was also looking for solutions for myself and for my skin. And they worked, so in very many ways my everything is a solution to the things that I have been going through but at the end it ended up taking a life of its own and just amplifying, who Avril has been for the longest time. "
She remained optimistic about her business venture in wellness products
