Rodgers Oloo Magudha, famously known as Nairobi Birdman, is a joyous man after joining the enviable list of landowners in Nairobi.
The young man who caught the attention of Kenyans due to his unique nature of walking around with two golden eagles and a crow perched on both his shoulders and head as well as the bird's attachment and loyalty towards him was awarded a piece of land in Konza City.
Birdman received the pricey gift during the just concluded men's mental health awareness walk that was organised by comedian Oga Obinna Obinna.
According to a video posted online, the coveted gift came from a real estate company that greatly recognized and celebrated Birdman's distinctive presence.
Through the gift they aim to support his well-being and help him get off the streets.
During the handover, Obinna announced he would be accompanying the gift with 10 iron sheets to help Magudha build his house. To top it off he revealed Kisii County MCA, Brenda Mora had also pledged to add 10 more iron sheets to help Birdman start off his construction.
"He has been gifted a piece of land in Konza City. I will give you 10 iron sheets so that you can build your house. We also have an honourable from Kisii, Brenda Mora, who has promised to add 10 more iron sheets," the father of 4 candidly stated
A week ago, Magudha appeared on national TV where he disclosed he lives on the streets near the National Archives along Tom Mboya Street. He noted the streets had been his home for years and that's where he met and befriended the birds after rescuing them.
"Anyone who wants to find or help me can come to Tom Mboya Street, where I stay. I am having a hard time, especially with the cold and rain. I need help to find a place to stay," the Birdman said.
