Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has promised to lobby for Eric Omondi’s election as a member of Parliament in 2027.

Speaking at Fred Omondi’s burial, Babu announced that they are ready to campaign for Eric, and come 2026 they would have identified as a constituency in Nairobi where he would run for an elective seat.

According to Owino, Omondi has been very instrumental when it comes to helping struggling Kenyans and it’s time for his efforts to be amplified.

He believes that if Omondi gets an elective post, it will be easy for him to help more people in society.

 “This out brother Eric Omondi, we have been in struggles with him and he is indeed helping Kenyans and he deserves to be an MP IN 2027.

“So Eric by 2026 we will give you a constituency you can represent in Nairobi. I’m very sure that he will win that seat and become an MP in 2027,” Babu Owino said.

At the same time, Babu told Raila;  “I want to say this, Our father is Raila Amollo Odinga, in fact, I want to ask you to drop the AU bid and let's go to State House. This is the time,”.

Just the other day, the comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi suggested that he might enter politics.

He was speaking in response to questions about whether he has political aspirations, particularly in the Langa'ta seat;

"I'm not replacing or planning to replace anyone, but given the chance, I would," he declared.

"I have never talked about Lang'ata (but if it's) Kenyans this is what I will tell them. The voice of the people is God's voice."

Since the August House is where laws are produced, Omondi claimed that serving in Parliament will provide him a better opportunity to advocate for Kenyans' rights.

He slammed the MPs who supported the Finance Bill 2024, saying they should no longer be members of Parliament since they betrayed Kenyans.
