Popular media personality Willis Raburu is a versatile journalist who hosted Citizen TV’s morning show as well as 10 over 10 entertainment shows.

He was also the mid-morning show presenter at Hot 96 a station owned by Royal Media Services.

Raburu later left Royal Media Services after 13 years for a county job.

After a few months, he announced a TV comeback, joining Capemedia-owned TV station TV47.

Raburu left Cape Media after 9 months of joining the media house. His exit came months after he was appointed as Director of Digital Services and Innovation.

"As I bid farewell to the TV47 family, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together over the past few months," part of his farewell message reads.

He is a testimony of what resilience, defiance to conformity, hard work, and passion can do.

Raburu is one of the few journalists who made a name for themselves in the media industry for being diverse.

He started as a TV reporter and worked hard to the rank of a news anchor and a senior TV host at Royal Media Services around 13 years ago.

Biography

Willis Raburu attended Aga Khan Primary School, Kisumu before joining Chemelil Mixed Academy High School. Later Raburu joined Moi University to pursue a Bachelors Degree of Information Science in media.

However, his father was against this and wanted him to pursue an It course despite him having a passion for the media industry.

Raburu lied to his father about the course he was pursuing until his father came to discover he was lying during his graduation in the year 2010.

Love life

In 2014, he made headlines after he proposed to his then-girlfriend, Sally Mbilu in a fairy tale at the place where he had his first date with her. Later the two broke up after two years.

In 2017 Willis married Mary Ngami in an invites only ceremony that came as a surprise since it happened a year later after breaking up with his ex-lover.

Since then he started sharing photos of her on social media.

Willis proposed to her three months before they decided to tie the knot together.

However, their union later failed months after they lost their first baby.

Currently, Raburu is married to Ivy Namu and together they have two kids.

Career

In his third year, Raburu joined K24 as a media intern and this gave him some experience.

After graduating from the university he landed a gig at Citizen TV which made his career life take a positive turn.

At Citizen TV he hosted several shows including the “TruthMeter” which was a weekly prime-time program.

He also hosted “10 over 10” and the Morning show on Citizen TV.

After his exit from Citizen TV, he later joined TV47 where he was a show host.

He was later made the Director of Digital Services and Innovation.

Eight months later Willis bided TV47 farewell as it marked the end of another chapter in his career journey.

Till now he hasn’t disclosed anything that he is engaging to the public but he says his show Wabebe Expreibce will be making a comeback soon.

Away from the media space, Raburu is also an Events MC, Musician and an influencer.
