Nigerian multi-award-winning artist Simisola Bolatito Kosoko better known by her stage name Simi has revealed that she never intended to date leave alone get married to a musician.

The 35-year-old who is married to fellow Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold revealed back when they started courting that she had no idea her husband was an aspiring singer.

"I get the irony and I guess that was also part of the challenge. I didn't know that he was trying to be a singer because I had actually made the choice to never date someone in the industry," Simi said during a sit down she had with CNN.

She went on to highlight that back when they met Adekunle was sort of a graphic editor and that is why she was open to dating him as she really did not want someone in the limelight.

"When I met him he was working in a company and people used to know him as the king of photoshop because he used to make these funny edits and I didn't know he was trying to be a singer. Next thing you know we're dating and I'm getting comfortable," the 'Look What You Made Me Do' hitmaker added.

Speaking about how the pair juggles their demanding careers as well as keep their marriage and family afloat the 'Duduke' crooner gushed over how they have learned to always find their balance, and understand the differences between work and their marriage.

Adding that they have mastered creating boundaries between home and work and coincidentally most times they are always on the same page.

"One thing I think we've been blessed with is how we are always on the same page and when we're not we always find a way. We're very respectful of each other's crafts and opinions as singers. We also think it's important to create boundaries work is work and I think we've been able to do very good with that," Simi added.

Simi and Adekunle Gold got married in a secret invite-only beach wedding back in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Adejare (Deja) into the world in 2020.

The public did not get a glimpse of their child until May 2021 when Simi posted the beautiful pictures to her Instagram.

7 months ago, speaking during an interview, her husband Adekunle shared similar sentiments as he expressed his happiness over the fact that he and his wife are thriving in their careers and relationship, despite their different schedules.

"My family is my center, I told you before. You know that you asked me where I'm happy, my happy place, it's where they are.

I think that's why it's even more beautiful because I don't have to do plenty of explaining because she understands and I understand as well.

If she needs to go somewhere we shuffle it, like right now she is in Lagos working. Thankfully we have family around to help with Deja," Gold expressed.
