Adekunle Gold poses as super fan to surprise Simi

• Adekunle Gold and Simi have been married for three years.

• Adekunle Gold surprised her with a birthday cake at the set of Nigerian Idol.

Nigerian singer and actress Simi, got a surprise of a lifetime during Nigeria's Idol live recording show.

Simi is currently one of the judges of Nigeria Idol alongside D'banj and Obi Asika.

During the show, the host asked her if the songstress had had a party during the week as her birthday had fallen on a weekday. She happily replied that she had had several cakes and a pool party with her friends.

"I always have a party... I had several cakes, probably seven, and I had a pool party with my friends." Simi said excitedly.

The host, although a little hurt that he hadn't been invited to the star's birthday informed her that they had organized a little surprise for her.

"We reached out to people on your timeline and one of the people following you came out to prove how much of a super fan they are. We think they really appreciate you." The host said as he welcomed her superfan, who turned out to be her husband, Adekunle Gold to the stage.

When the stage doors opened a smiling Adekunle was seen walking out carrying a big cake in his arms as his song played in the background.

A stunned Simi walked over and affectionately hugged her husband before planting a kiss on her husband as an excited D'banj (fellow co-host) excitedly danced celebrating their love in the background.

He jokingly added that it felt like magic being able to meet his idol as Simi walked back to her seat.

"I just want to say I'm proud of you, well done. Deja and I are rooting for you and we love you. I love you, baby," Adekunle told his giddy wife on stage.
