Willy Paul, a former gospel artist who crossed over into secular music, has opened up about his relationship with God since making the transition.

Speaking after performing at Boom Fest last weekend, Willy Paul said that he still adheres to the fundamental Christian principles despite no longer singing gospel music.

The artist revealed that he still prays before going on stage to perform, just as he used to do when he was doing gospel music.

He mentioned that the only thing that changed in his relationship with God was that he stopped singing gospel music, but he remains firm in his Christian beliefs.

"Before I step onto the stage, we pray, we have prayed even here. The only thing that changed about Willy Paul and God or what people call ministry is the type of music I do, but my relationship with God is still strong, I know how I communicate with Him," he said.

Giving a hint about his love life, Willy Paul said, "Women, well! I really love them, but I also fear them a lot!"

The artist, who has recently faced a lot of mixed opinions online over something he did at his show, said that his shield is to ignore all those who speak ill and slander him, while also knowing that he lives his reality.
