An autopsy conducted on the body of celebrated media Personality Rita Tinina has revealed that she died as a result of severe pneumonia.

The autopsy was conducted by government Pathologist Peter Ndegwa on March 19, 2024, at the Umash Funeral Home.

“The pathologist has done the postmortem and concluded Rita died out of severe pneumonia,” he said.

A family spokesperson Timothy Njaga also confirmed the same stating they they are satisfied with the results.

Rita who was a senior reporter at Nation Media Group-owned station NTV passed away on Sunday, March 17th 2024 in her Kileleshwa house.

She was expected to be at work at NTV, where she was employed, but did not show up. Concerned by her absence, NTV management went to her house and found her dead.

In October 2023, the late Tinina made her return to Nation Media Group's (NMG) NTV, after departing from Standard Group Limited.

Tinina, formerly a senior reporter at KTN, had previously held the same position at NTV.

As per her LinkedIn profile, Tinina held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Nairobi (UoN).

Considered one of the finest reporters by many viewers of the station, Tinina was highly sought-after, with several offers reportedly extended to her from top Kenyan media house
