Swaleh Mdoe's alleged suspension by Citizen TV lights up social media

•Media personality and journalist Swaleh Mdoe has recently found himself at the center of attention after Citizen TV, a leading television station under Royal Media Services, decided to pull him off the air indefinitely

Reports about the alleged suspension of Swaleh Mdoe by Citizen TV have sparked the masses' interest with most shocked and left to wonder what the absence of the news anchor would mean.

This move has surprised a lot of viewers and has left them speculating about the reasons why.

Reports also indicated that Mdoe missed a 1:00 p.m. bulletin on Tuesday, January 23 citing a medical emergency of which his supervisors were allegedly unaware. The news anchor has been off-air for over three weeks.

The seasoned news anchor hosts the Monday prime-time Swahili bulletin at 7:00 pm (Tafakari ya Babu edition) as well as the 1;00 pm bulletins on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Mdoe media career which kicked off in 1991 extends far beyond his role as a news anchor. The 'Tafakari ya Babu' host has made a name for himself as a versatile journalist with experience in both print and broadcast media both nationally and internationally.

He has contributed news stories, features, and reports at the Kenya Times, Standard Group, The Message, Weekly Mail, BBC, Nation TV, KTN, The London-based shipping magazine Ports International 1997 -2002 Los Angeles Times (USA) Uhuru and the express newspaper both in Tanzania and in the local newspapers among others.

Following the news of Swaleh's suspension Kenyans were shocked and left to wonder what the absence of the news anchor would mean.
