Famous Kenyan musician Hubert Nakitare aka Nonini has opened up about the death of his older brother who died many years ago.
While speaking with Mwafreeka on the Iko Nini podcast, the rapper who currently lives in the United States revealed that his brother Jude Nakitare died of TB.
Nonini revealed that the late Jude suffered from TB for so long that the disease spread to other parts of the body and became more dangerous.
“Ndugu yangu alikuwa na TB. TB zamani ilikuwa ni noma. Ilikuwa imejirudia,” Nonini said.
The artist revealed that his brother's illness was so bad that doctors had to inject him with drugs to save his life.
“Unajua TB ikikushika utibiwe, alafu ikushike tena utibiwe, huwa inaanza kususia dawa. Inabidi umeanza dawa kutumia sindano. Mazee alikuwa anadungwa sindano nyingi, alikuwa anadungwa nadhani sindano 48. Lakini ikirudi tena sindano lazima ziongezewe,” he said.
Nonini said that the deceased died after suffering from lung problems.
“Siku moja alikuwa na shida ya mapafu. Alishindwa kupumua. Alikufa juu ya meza walipokuwa wakijaribu kumfufua. TB ilikuwa noma. Ukiskia TB ina tiba, zamani ilikuwa ngori,” he said.
The rapper revealed that he was still in school when his brother died. The deceased was already an adult and was working when he lost his life.
About a decade ago, Nonini released the song 'Waliotuacha' where he talked about the death of his brother and how his mother used to compare him to the deceased.
