Canadian-born singer Celine Dion can't move her muscles at the moment. The grim update has come from her family about the neurological condition that the singer has struggled with.

Claudette Dion her sister, told "7Jours" that Celine is working hard to overcome her illness, a rare neurological disorder called "Stiff person syndrome,".

Claudette says the illness is not yet well understood by current medical science, noting that vocal cords are muscles too.

Claudette said the Fondation Maman Dion, where she is CEO and spokesperson, receives numerous messages asking about Celine's health and wellbeing.

Fans quick recovery and love messages have encouraged Dion, added the sister

"If only you knew the number the number of messages the foundation gets about Celine! People tell us they love her and they’re praying for her," she said. "She gets so many messages, presents and blessed crucifixes."

In a video in 2022, Dion explained that she suffers from stiff person syndrome, a condition that causes debilitating spasms as well as stiffness in the limbs and torso.

Celine’s condition, which is progressive and incurable, causes the body to attack its own nerve cells and severely impacts mobility.

According to medics, the spasms — which are often triggered by loud noises and emotional distress — interfere with daily functions.

The condition is extremely rare but is much more common in women.

Dion expressed some hope. "I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better," she said.

"I'm working with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again."
