4.2mil views later - Troubled Ngesh speaks on not profitting from Kaveve Kazoze

Kaveve Kazoze singers Spider Clan have not benefited from the fame of the viral song.

The group admitted this in an interview on Thursday, Dec 7 on Jalango TV.

They spoke about how they were promised so much including a 5 million donation.

"Maisha imekuwa ngumu because even some promoters came on board but nothing. We were even promised jobs, but see we even have our CVs here with us, we are job searching.

Saa izi tuko chini mbaya," told Paul the manager.

Banguz, Mosree, Ngesh, and Mguzu, also echoed the same sentiments.

They are Naivasha residents who grew up together.They have released other songs after Kaveve Kazoze.

The music has not been received as well as the viral song.The group is still holding onto hopes that the promises will be fulfilled. In the meantime, they are job-hunting to survive

"Tunabahasha hapa za kusaka job, " shared Paul.

Ngesh even did her rendition of the song which has 348k views.

Ngesh, the most famous of the group has weighed in separately.

"Hii story hainibambi..but...kujituma razima " she shared her sorrow.

She has quit selling clothes in town explaining why

"When you meet people in the streets they say you have money and you can't tell them you are broke.

I stopped selling bags in town I quit mambo tuu mob. Kazi mi mingi, mashughuli zimekuwa minig"

The official song on their YouTube channel was released six months ago. It has garnered over 4.2 million views.

Back in May, the song became a sensation with the lyrics having Kenyans chanting about how relatable it is.

Even politicians joined in, calling for support of the Rieng Genje singers.

Elsewhere gengetone artists have been raising concern online with their appeals for financial help, a miod many challenges.

Gengetone Producer Magix Enga asked for help to feed his child

"Niko Kwa street Tuma ata 50 Bob" he appealed in early November.
