Activist Boniface Mwangi has been sentenced to two months in prison for contempt of court.

Appearing before the High Court at Machakos on Wednesday, Mwangi was found guilty of the offence and sentenced to a jail term.

He was also given the alternative of paying a Sh300,000 fine.

Mwangi was in contempt in a defamation case where he was sued by Tourism CS Alfred Mutua.

"I have been found guilty of contempt of court. Sentenced to two months in prison or pay a fine of Ksh 300,000. The gag order was extended to January 2024. l can no longer post who bombed our home. Water is wet, the pope is Catholic, and everyone knows who bombed our home," Mwangi shared.
