Comedian Mammito has expressed her concerns at the high number of women creatives who are no longer active in the industry.

The comedian says so much is expected from female creatives but they are not supported like they should.

"I do appreciate everyone that I meet and they are happy that I made them laugh when they were going through something and they come to my socials to have a good laugh.

Thank you I love you mwaah!!I really appreciate it and most at times it happens when I want to give up niende nikauze uniform Kenol 🤣 but the love and the warmth I get keeps me going.

The hate keeps my blood boiling! 😜I really care about the women in the industry, I’ve been having this conversation with other artists and what stood out was that so much is expected from us yet so little is given to us.

Which makes this artist just opt to do other things instead."

Mammito went on to add that being compared to men has been their biggest challenge.

"For example, some dope musicians with beautiful voices no longer sing na si ati they made it. They just gave up and that’s a concern because it’s a high number.

I’ve not talked to watu wa Havard but I know it’s almost 40%🤣.

The biggest challenge is that We are constantly being compared to the men in the industry.

We do the same load of work but we can’t be paid more than them or equally the Same our privileges are way less.

Yet we do the same work or more. The sad thing is that you’ll find the women in these spaces ndio wanasema, “na Mbona analipwa that mash?” Insert Mrs Gachugua’s voice.#femaleartistweneedmore

In conclusion, she pointed out

"Haaayaaa Kwa mambo mengine,Don’t you think it’s absurd that we have talented people who have dope content on YouTube but what we air is Indian movies, telenovela ,Nigerian movies 90% of the time. I understand it’s good to watch other countries content but I know that’s not how you grow an industry.Let’s support our own Talent. And for the fancy people.

Please let’s support local artists “
