Explainer: Do's and Dont's after undergoing a hair transplant procedure

• While hair transplants cannot prevent the progression of genetic hair loss, this procedure can successfully address the after-effects of this type of hair loss.

Hair Transplant

Business man Jimal Roho Safi is currently in Turkey for a hair transplant.

Hair transplant helps grow hair in areas that were bare, and for him it is to cover his 'big' forehead.

Truth be told most people especially those with receding hair lines would give anything to be able to afford this procedure.

While hair transplants cannot prevent the progression of genetic hair loss, this procedure can successfully address the after-effects of this type of hair loss.

There are two types of hair transplant procedures  namely

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE) techniques.

The transplanted hair will fall off after 2-3 weeks after surgery.

New hair growth is experienced after 6-9 months
