Award winning actress and her husband Phil Karanja have announced an end of their marriage.

Through a joint statement, the couple said their separation was never a secret, they just chose to keep it private.

"We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our kids."

Phil has stated that they will continue being friends, co-parents and business partners.

The couple was to celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary in November.

The lovebirds walked down the aisle at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in November 2017.

The couple has a daughter together and they also raised a son from Kate's previous relationship.
