Former Citizen TV presenter, Willis Raburu has spoken about his habit of being happy and having many emotions especially when he is in public.

Raburu who was talking to Director Phil on his podcast said that he is a person whose anger is very difficult to witness either in family, at work, or anywhere else.

He said that he learned to embrace the habit of hiding his problems under the guise of happiness after going through many things on the internet from people who were saying unpleasant things to him about his body weight.

Raburu said he has since embraced that trait, and it is not easy to find him angry.

"I generally used to like to be a quiet person. I am a man, I was suffering.. you know the song 'suffering is for the soul'... I was not speaking, it was not coming through my mouth. I used to swallow anger even if it was at work, at family, anywhere. I'll take anything. That is, for me to find myself angry is very difficult, but maybe if I'm hungry. But it takes me a long time to get angry," Raburu said.

Raburu also recounted his life of gaining and losing weight through surgery and said that for a long time, people attacked him on the internet until he got to the point of wanting to give up on his own body.

"It was giving me stress, it hurt me and it happened to me many times, sometimes I was just uploading pictures for fun but people's comments were cutting me off completely. For me, I think I'm only gaining weight due to eating too much to reduce stress. Some time ago I did an exercise and lost 13 kg of weight and I went to the United States for two weeks and came back having gained 6 kg," Raburu recalled.

"I gained a lot of weight in 2020 due to eating too much to relieve stress. It was a very difficult time for me from losing a child, divorce, and I gained a lot of weight. I was feeling like I was gaining weight because when I sat down to eat, I felt like I was gaining weight," he explained.

"When it comes time someone has gained too much weight they know, and many are not happy about it, they try to be as positive as they can but in their minds, they know they need to do something."
