Zari Hassan Luutaya is in her home country Uganda.
The businesswoman has not been seen in public with her husband ever since their flopped trip to the UK at the end of June.
The All White party did not go as expected as Zari and the promoter engaged in a public feud about the event flopping.
The promoter leaked an audio of Zari criticizing her husband Shakib Luutaya for inexperience in international travel.
She called him foolish and a man who has no confidence.The resulting condemnation for Zari was strong with netizens taking issue with her for ridiculing her man.
She tried to defend her comments as he took to his social media to speak out about being a fool for love.
In an exclusive interview with NTV Uganda’s Mwasuze Mutya Monday, July 10, Zari clarified her earlier comments at the same time heaping praise on him.
“I wanted Lutaaya to be in the UK with me and it’s difficult to get a VISA so whatever I said wasn’t intended to shame or disrespect my husband. Women talk about their husbands privately, it’s absurd that someone I thought was my friend betrayed me,” she said
She called him courageous for proposing to her,
"The Nikah ceremony was a surprise. He in collaboration with a few friends organized the marriage. I didn’t hesitate because I loved him. His courage just shocked me, I didn’t expect him to pull off such a move.
I asked for a Quran for Mahr (dowry). My husband Lutaaya had a life of his own before we met. He works and as a busy man, even after we got married, we are not together all the time. He comes by when he gets time or when I am free. People just got to know him through me,”
She also said he is humble and makes her happy.She also said he is a very prayerful man who makes it a habit to call her and remind her to do the same.
“I asked for a Quran as Mahr (dowry) because I am on a spiritual journey with Allah. My husband, Shakib prays a lot so I feel guilty if I don’t and he always calls to remind me to pray when he’s not around,” Zari said.
She reveals that her family didn't approve of the relationship, but they gave her their blessings regardless.
“My children did not approve of my relationship with Shakib but after witnessing how close we were and happy, they asked him to ensure that he takes good care of me.”
Responding to a question about whether he takes care of her financially, Zari said all that matters is he brings peace and makes her happy.
They intend to have another marriage ceremony in December. They share their phone passwords. She said she does not cheat, calling it a deal breaker, and will not entertain it.

For now, no matter how fat I can get, my stomach and legs can’t go back to the previous sizes."
