Shorts from Africa founded by Nice Githinji and Nyokabi Macharia hosted a private preview of their upcoming play 'Graveyard Queens' set to officially premiere on July 14, 15, and 16, 2023.

'Graveyard Queens' is a thought-provoking play that challenges societal norms. It features an iconic cast with over 100 years of combined experience, including seasoned theater practitioners and a new generation of performers.

The cast is made up of;  Muthoni Gathecha (Tabitha), Carol ‘Coach’ Odongo (IDA), Mumbi Kaigwa (Doris), John Karathe (Sam) and Agnes Kola (Christabel).

The play has been directed by talented actresses Nice Githinji and Nyokabi Macharia.

The exclusive preview was graced by several celebrities among them Pascal Tokodi, Esther Kazungu, Ciru Muriuki, Queen Gathoni, Olivia Ambani, and Rueben Odanga among others.

Taking to social media, Nice Githinji thanked everyone who showed up for the preview.

“Last night we hosted some of the most incredible minds in this city at the @shortsfromafrica #graveyardqueenspreview at @ihub_nairobi. A conversation after the show revealed so much about ageism in society. Within and without our borders.

“This play is so timely within that context especially because mature people have been presented in such a vibrant way. They love. They dance. Advance tickets for the play that will be staged at Braeside School Muthangari are going for Sh2, 500 (Single) 2,500 (Single) 4,500 (Couple) 11,000 (Group of 5) and at the gate, it will be Sh3,000

At the same time, Nyokabi Macharia who is also the director of the play expressed her satisfaction with the reviews and comments that the play performance was accorded.
