In recent times, a viral TikTok video has captured the attention of Kenyans, shedding light on the striking luxurious setting of a certain private boarding high school.

Another video, created by popular Kenyan comedian Njugush, humorously portrays the vast contrast in the quality of education, living conditions, and overall experiences of students in Kenyan public high schools.

Njugush's  video has amassed over 1 million views in 3days on TikTok, sparking a conversation about the disparities within Kenya's education system.

The humorous yet thought-provoking video serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by many students attending public high schools across the country.

Public high schools, often referred to as ghettos or military camps, are characterized by limited resources, overcrowded classrooms, and strict rules.

Students in these schools encounter struggles such as poor-quality food, harsh living conditions, rampant theft, and restrictive regulations that govern every aspect of their daily lives.

Njugush's video captures these hardships, resonating with countless individuals who can relate to the realities depicted.

This was in contrast of a recent Tik Tok video by a girl named shirley showcasing the lavish amenities and comforts enjoyed by students in a private boarding high school.

The scenes depicted a setting that seems like a completely different world from the public school experience in Kenya.

With an array of food options during meals, including chips, burgers, sausages, vegetables, and cookies, along with personalized salad stations, the stark contrast in the dining experience alone was enough to awe Kenyans.

The luxurious facilities, well-equipped classrooms, and overall favorable conditions portrayed in the video left many Kenyans amused.

The stark division between elite and public high schools in Kenya has raised concerns about educational inequality and the systemic challenges faced by students in underserved communities.

While some students enjoy the privileges and opportunities available in elite schools, others grapple with limited resources, substandard facilities, and a lack of access to quality education.

As Njugush's video continues to gain traction and spark discussions, it highlights the urgent need to address the stark realities faced by students in public high schools.

By investing in infrastructure, improving resources, and implementing inclusive policies, Kenya can strive towards creating an education system that nurtures and supports all students, regardless of their economic circumstances.
