Lang'ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang'o has returned home and remembered how his friendship with East African music star Diamond Platnumz began more than 10 years ago.
In a conversation with SPM Buzz last weekend, Jalang'o said that he met Diamond when he was just beginning to emerge with only three songs.
The Member of Parliament narrated that during that period Diamond was invited to a show in the coastal areas of Kenya and he did not have anyone on his team.
They met him and after the concert, the promoter cheated them and left them in trouble, and that's when they got to know each other more and grew their friendship to this day.
“Diamond mara ya kwanza kukutana, tulikuwa tumeitiwa shoo Malindi. Ilikuwa inaitwa Mr na Mrs Coast…kitu kama hiyo. Mfadhili akatutoka, mimi na Diamond tukapanda Voxy mpaka Mombasa. Alikuwa na ngoma kama mbili, tatu watu walikuwa wanajua. Hiyo ni miaka mingi sana iliyopita, Zaidi ya kumi sasa, 12 hivi kama sijakosea,” Jalango alisema.
During their journey, the singer expressed gratitude to Jalang'o for the kindness and support shown on that memorable day.
"On that day he told me I'll never forget what you did to my life. And from that time we've always been friends," he said.
The MP also revealed his commitment to nurturing relationships and ensuring that those who have made a difference in his life remain close to his heart.
"I don't burn bridges. I always make sure that every person who has been around me and has had a positive impact on my life remains a part of it," he said.
