Singer Kambua has made a return to music and advocacy fully.

This followed her time away dealing with grief as a result of the death of her son.

Kambua explained her decision to Sharom Mwangi on her Best Kept Secrets Podcast.

She confessed to having been a sort of recluse, hiding behind closed curtains as friends and family fought to bring her out of her shell.

"It was such an emptiness when I lost my child for the first time I understood how people get into addictions to numb a pain. I realized if I dont channel my energy into something positive, it would need an outlet. So for me, my outlet has been diving fully back into ministry and advocacy and it keeps me abuzz" she shared about her decision.

Speaking about the practical ways she has been dealing with grief, Kambua told that she deals with triggers in many ways.

"Healing has looked like finding safe spaces within my family and friend, people who will not judge me. People who will not allow me to stay in my house with my curtains closed for weeks on end. My children have brought a lot of healing to me because as a mother you are just constantly pouring and pouring yourself and sometimes you realize you dont have the luxury to feel your feelings,".

Kambua detailed the pain of losing her grandparents, plus her late dad in 2014, to her beautiful son Malachi.

"I used to wake my husband and tell him I feel like there were rocks piled in my heart. Even getting out of bed was difficult. It's such a heaviness. It's a place where people have to remind you to do certain things, you feel like you dont have the strength to do simple things,"

Kambua credits her family and friends for helping her through the process which was not easy. She is now back to music, her ministry, and advocacy that she previously enjoyed doing.
