MCSK Boss Ezekiel Mutua has called out Kenyan artists over what he terms as producing songs with little or no moral teaching.

He says instead of focusing on songs that only get like instead of money, one should produce songs with morals.

"Am calling on these artists to up their game. Let the music be promoting hope and inspiration.

Let us not focus on likes, shares, and views.

Let the song help people find hope and change the course of their life."

Adding

"People are going through a lot.Did you hear the song about the lady singing about 'Niko napesa na ni ya babako? What are you telling my daughter?

Those are not the kind of things we want to promote as a way of life. Do not promote hate, Be the light and the peace of mind needed in the world.Rather than get likes that do not translate to wealth. Let us have an introspection."

Ezekiel urged artists to be more intentional.

"We can use things to promote positive social values and promote a more cohesive society.Let us be intentional by creating songs that give people hope."

Mutua says as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya, all they want is for Kenyans to produce good music.

"We do not want our musician to die poor, and to leave a decent life.Kenya has great musicians but it's not enough to launch albums. What has shocked me is the negativity, and pessimism among the people who are championing this (Christians).

The ones who claim to know the name of the Lord, the elite musicians never come to meetings and invites.

Hence you end up with challenges in leadership.

They should get involved and participate because Ezekiel Mutua cannot do it alone."
