Kenyan singer Esther Akoth a.k.a Akothee in an Instagram post gave reasons as to why some of her close relatives did not attend her wedding that happened weeks ago saying that it was an invite-only.
According to the mother of five ;
"Family is a group of people gathered together by blood who really don't know each other."
She went ahead to illustrate that forgiveness doesn't have to be public adding that important occasions should never be times for reconciliation further expounding that family should be family, not friendships giving an example of Abel and Cain and Joseph and his brothers;
"Never use your important occasions for family reconciliations 🤝 kama mbaya mbaya, kila mtu akae kwake. Again forgiveness doesn't have to be public that is a pretense, first, forgive yourself then forgive others.
Remember you don't know each other, that's why you see Cain Killed Abel, Joseph was sold by his own brothers, sasa wewe ni NANI? I enjoyed my wedding 💑 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Especially when choosing the guest list 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣"
This comes weeks after Akothee’s sister Cebbie Koks didn’t attend the musician’s wedding as Kenyans had expected but on that, the controversial singer has stated that;
"Kama haukuwaona jua hawakualikwa, Was the best part of it." Meaning," (If you did not see them, just know that they weren't invited)
Further noting;
"I only had people I wanted no one dictates how you your life should be. FORGIVE FORGIVE FORGIVEBUTBOUNDARIES IS A MUST."
The colourful wedding was attended by some of her family members, media personalities, politicians, and content creators.
Well truth is that the two sisters fell out a few months ago. You will observe that even Akothee never attended Cebbie's wedding.
