Your favorite celebrities have all lost their Twitter verification badges. The process began on April 1 to a few accounts, but now Twitter has begun removing blue check marks en mass. The target was April 20.
The blue check mark means that the account has an active subscription to Twitter Blue and meets its eligibility requirements.
Among the first to lose it was DP Rigathi Gachagua. Sports personality Carol Radull has informed her fans she lost it sharing a screenshot of it.
Diamond Platnumz, Zuchu, Wizkid, Davido, Cristiano Ronaldo have also lost their badges. Musk is now charging $8 a month for verification through Twitter Blue.
Your account must meet the following criteria to receive or retain the blue check mark:
It must have a display name and profile photo
Your account must be active in the past 30 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue
Your account must be older than 30 days upon subscription and have a confirmed phone number
Your account must have no recent changes to your profile photo, display name, or username (@handle)
Your account must have no signs of being misleading or deceptive
Your account must have no signs of engaging in platform manipulation and spa
Then the check mark will appear once the Twitter team reviews a persons Twitter Blue subscribed account and if it meets their requirements.
To minimize confusion and promote integrity on the platform, changes to your profile photo, display name, or username (@handle) will result in a temporary loss of the blue check mark until your account is validated as continuing to meet the social sites requirements.
No further changes to a persons profile photo, display name, or username will be allowed during this review period.
The check mark will appear again once the team reviews a persons Twitter Blue subscribed account and if it continues to meet their requirements.
