Mammito steals the show at Queen Charlotte's A Bridgerton Affair in South Africa
Netflix South Africa hosted an exclusive premiere for Queen Charlotte" A Bridgerton Affair on 16 April.
Kenyan celebrities were among the famous people who mingled with Golda Rosheuvel (who plays Queen Charlotte) on Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
The event went down at the picturesque Quoin Rock Wine Estate, where the esteemed guests of Shondaland's Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story honoured the prestigious invitation in style.
Comedian Mammito stole the show with her beautiful gown. Other East Africa celebs who dressed to kill at the event include Kate Actress, Tanzania's Idris Sultan, Azzaid Nasenya, Joy Kendi, Nikita Kering, and Anyiko Owoko.
The highly anticipated series, written and produced by Shonda Rhimes, is a prequel spin-off about Queen Charlotte – a fan-favorite character portrayed by accomplished Guyanese-British actor Golda Rosheuvel.
The series features the origin stories of much-beloved characters, including Lady Danbury (a role reprised by Andjoa Andoh). Breakout star Arsema Thomas, an actor with roots in Ethiopia, Nigeria, and South Africa, plays the young Lady Danbury.
Rosheuvel and Thomas appeared at the high-society Bridgerton-themed event attended by Nigerian, Tanzanian, Kenyan, and South African personalities, actors, and influencers.
The premiere event in South Africa was part of the global celebrations ushering in the six-part series set to launch on Netflix on 4 May 2023.
The Kenyan edition of celebrating Queen Charlotte happened a week ago.
