Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee is a Kenyan Musician and a business lady.

She is the founder of Akothee Safaris, a tour company based in Kenya, the Akothee Foundation, a charity that was formed to improve the livelihood of the disadvantaged in society and Akothee Homes, a real estate business.

She has three daughters and two sons. Akothee's daughters are products of her first marriage, while her sons were conceived from different relationships.

The mother of five is regarded as the wealthiest female musician in East Africa.

The flamboyant singer was born in Kisumu County and grew up in Migori County. She went to Nyabisawa Girls Secondary School till she dropped out at the age of 14 to marry her ex-husband who is the father of her first three children.

She returned to secondary school, graduating from Wasio Mixed Secondary School in 2004 and she claimed that when she came back, she found her then-husband was cheating on her and she had to divorce him and move on.

Before rising to fame, the singer revealed that she had done low-paying jobs like selling omena to earn a living and taxi driving in Mombasa.

The businesswoman branded herself as the president of single mothers because according to her, the title is a celebration of her achievement in raising her children on her own.

“My title does not necessarily mean I am still a single mother, it basically means a woman who has successfully raised all of her children without the privilege of a partner,” she said in one of her previous interviews.

As a musician, most of her songs, which are performed in Kiswahili, English, and Luo, have an afro-beat vibe to them, which is only one of the reasons why so many people adore her music.

She has won several awards, including "Best Female Artist (East Africa)" at the African Muzik Magazine Awards in 2016 and 2019, "Best Video" at the African Muzik Magazine Awards in 2016, and "Best Female Artist" at the African entertainment Awards in the USA.

She currently has over 3 million followers on Instagram and has an influence on her followers which has seen many brands wanting to work with her and during her career, she has seen herself sign quite a few endorsement deals.

She has had the opportunity to work with Peptang, Weston Hotel owned by the current president as their brand ambassador just to mention a few.

She is also a proud owner of a multi-million mansion in Rongo, a palatial home in Mombasa, and a huge house in Nairobi.

Apart from that, Akothee also owns a four-bedroomed pad in Zurich, Switzerland.

On 10th April, Easter Monday and her birthday, the singer tied the knot with her love, Denis Schweizer, also known as Omosh, in a beautiful garden wedding at the Windsor Golf and Country Club.

The wedding was attended by top politicians like Jalang'o, Millie Odhiambo, and top influencers and creators like the Wajesus family and Azziad just to mention a few.

The couple looked stunning as they both wore white outfits for the occasion with the singer in her highly publicized Ksh 700K white gown, while her husband wore a white Achkan, also known as a Sherwani.
