Gukena FM presenter MC Jimmie Kajim and his wife Wambui named their son after popular US preacher TD Jakes.
Speaking to Word Is, the father of one said Jakes is his favourite and most beloved man of God.
"My son doesn’t have a Kikuyu name. His names are AlphaJakes Muiru, and we wished to have it that way," he said.
Kajim revealed his face as the family celebrated his first birthday.
Being the only child, Kajim said he also called his son Alpha to mean the beginning.
"I am beginning my whole generation since I don’t have a brother, sister, dad or mum," he said.
Kajim said the day was extra special for the family.
"It seems like yesterday that you were tiny and new, and now, there are so many things, that on your own you do," he penned on Instagram.
"We’ll light your first candle and make a lot of fuss to be sure that you will know how precious you are to us. My dear son, you’re so young, you don’t know anything yet. You’re so pure and innocent, and I just want to protect you from everything in the world."
His wife Wambui said each day with their son in their lives is an irreplaceable and priceless present.
"May your first year be the first of many more filled with love and happiness," she said.
Kajim and Wambui will celebrate their second marriage anniversary in May this year.
