Many Kenyan female celebrities are always questioned about their choices. Even something like wearing a bathing suit when they go on holiday is enough to elicit curt comments from trolls.
For instance, in 2020, Dj Mo was forced to respond to a critic who dropped comments under a picture of Size 8 in a costume while on holiday.
The Dj had shared a photo of his wife rocking a bikini gushing over her.
“Huyu ni wa topa and she can’t swim na kitenge . Unaweza sana babe @size8reborn,” he captioned the photo.
A fan said it was inappropriate for a gospel minister to wear a bikini.
“That picture for a gospel musician is a total shame bro please delete it. The swimming kit is cool but she is not just a gospel artist she is god’s servant and this is a total shame if she can be seen in public looking like this,” the troll wrote
Dj Mo defended his wife, calling out the critic and writing,
"Kong’ani Malingu, advise your wife bro ….. Stuff of God you can’t teach me I know better,” her husband retorted.
