Actress Jackie Matubia has revealed that she has shed a lot of weight after swallowing a balloon.

Speaking to Kalondu Musyimi, the popular Kenyan actress opened up saying that she had lost almost 28kgs.

Jackie said she will soon talk about the weight-loss journey as she also unveils her new body.

"I have lost 28kgs. I am doing a whole reveal video soon and that is why I have been wearing baggy clothes so people can think that I have not lost weight. I have really lost a lot of weight," she said.

Asked what her desired weight is, Jackie said wants to maintain where she is right now.

"I have heavy bones and I am also thick. I think my preferred weight is 75 but when I was 75kgs, I was really tiny and so I think I will maintain where I am right now."

Four months ago, Jackie announced that she underwent gastric balloon surgery.

She expressed excitement at finding a solution to her weight concerns.

In October 2022, she revealed that she spent sh500,000 to kickstart her journey.

The following month, she updated that she had shed 7 kilos, a massive fete.

On her YouTube channel, the Zora actress added that she has a goal weight for December.

"It's an amazing feeling because you're losing weight so drastically, but nothing comes easy. Six kgs are something I would have worked out crazy for at the gym. My target weight is 75 and I am very sure I am going to get it by December."

A gastric balloon, also known as an intragastric balloon or a stomach balloon, is an inflatable medical device that is temporarily placed into the stomach to help reduce weight.

It is designed to help provide weight loss when diet and exercise have failed and surgery is not wanted or not recommended for the patient.

Gastric balloon controls and restricts food intake.
