Actress Wanjiku Mburu aka Mama Baha has been off the acting scene for some time.

Her life has been that of a mum to a cute baby boy.

Speaking to SPM Buzz, Mama Baha told that after being in multiple acting roles for over 20 years, she finally took a break.

She described the hiatus as a good decision.

"Kazi tunarudia, I'm in an industry that does not have a cut-off time, saa hii nalea so mimepotea kidogo but nitarudi"

"Sasa nikirudi unaweza trust nimekuja na big things."

Mama Baha of Machachari has been raising her child.

"He will be turning one kidogo nilikuwa ninalea its very important I believe kwanza kukaa na mtoto kidogo kazi tunarudia very soon.

She doesn't feel she will be irrelevant -  "Content is king and there are so many stories I can tell, Even if I have been away for ten years, consumers are still there, reinvent is the game,"

Repeat episodes of Machachari are always airing on Citizen TV but no actor from the program is earning royalties.

"Well bila kusema mambo mingi ni ukweli for whatever reason you sign a contract, kipindi sio yetu ni yao, unfortunately when we were hired we never signed a contract that would ensure we get royalties, so there's nothing much we can do,".

The series began in 2010.

When the cast members signed contracts they were naive and that resulted in them losing out.

"Hakuna mtu ako na makosa nituu time haikufika ni hivo tuu"

The veteran actress misses acting with her TV children; "Hii ni bond tunegrow nayo, I consider them family, our chemistry was real it was not forced. I am proud to have acted with them"

"You must also understand that I'm also going through normal life, there are those we meet and talk to and nawashauri, kuwaskiza, they are family but everyone has their life, na maisha yako pia ni ngumu, so before you reach out hakikisha umejismamisha,"

She is now working on a feature film, among other future projects.
