Prominent prime-time Swahili host Lulu Hassan has denied Jiffy Pictures' involvement in requesting money for the mentorship of children.
She warned people on Instagram that Vic word events related to Jiffy Pictures have never asked people for money to offer mentorship to children and would never do so.
"Kindly Be advised that at no point is #vicworldevents related with #Jiffypictures. We ask schools to avoid engaging this particular team. Royal Media Services /Jiffypictures will NEVER ask for money to mentor kids!!!!Beware!!!!"
Jiffy Pictures is a television media production studio that has produced several successful Swahili TV series.
Lulu Hassan and her husband Rashid Abdalla started this business after learning about what goes into producing a TV show.
Despite owning the production company, the two read prime-time Swahili news together at 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays at Citizen TV.
In 2016, the company was accused of not paying a scriptwriter, Denis Maina. He claimed that he was contacted by a man called Ibrahim Chitayi, who is the head writer of a production company to write a script for a show Moyo which used to run on Citizen TV on Wednesdays at 7.30 pm.
Jiffy pictures is known for the production of Swahili telenovelas for local audiences with the couple writing the scripts, scouting talent and executive producing the shows. The company’s social media pages were set up in 2016 and in 2017 they landed their first greenlight from Multichoice for Maza.
They have produced a couple of telenovelas which are Maria, Sultana, Zora, Kovu, Aziza, Huba on Maisha Bongo, and Maza on Maisha Magic East.
The couple have been blessed with three beautiful kids.
