Nigerian Artiste Ayra Starr has refuted claims that she is dating fellow Mavin Records signee, Rema.

In an interview with Kiss FM’s Chito Ndohlovu and Cyd Wambui, the Rush hitmaker said that those were just rumours and they should be treated as such.

She went on to mention that she regards Rema as a brother and therefore there is no way she can date him.

“I have never heard that before… that’s my brother in Christ,” Ayra Starr explained.

At the same time, Starr disclosed that her collaboration with Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime Baraza took only 20 minutes to put together.

“We made the song in like 20 minutes.

Asked why she is yet to promote the song on her pages, Ayra replied; “Currently, I’m promoting like fives songs on my page but soon I will start promoting it. we had an agreement about it. I don’t want to overcrowd the page,”.

The singer was at the Kiss FM studios to promote her music and her upcoming weekend show dubbed Shoke Shoke happening at the KICC on Saturday.

The song has over 400K of being uploaded on YouTube in just 2 weeks.  Just the other day, Bien told Mpasho’s Dennis Milimo that the song is a personal project and therefore he could not be allowed to upload it on the group’s channel.

He went on to explain that it’s a management arrangement and that’s why he had to start his own YouTube channel.

He further divulged that the new YouTube channel is another revenue stream that has been added to his name.

“It's part of growth and the deal I currently have with my distributor did not allow me to release the song on the Sauti Sol Channel because it is monetized differently.

"So the channel with the song is a Bien Channel and basically, we are just trying to create a payment structure for me to be able to monetize my music in a better way,"

However, Bien admitted that not having the song on their main YouTube channel was a bit of a setback.

“It’s a bit boring because we have built the Sauti Sol page to a million subscribers, Inauma mbaya sana by the way. Hiyo kiyu imeniuma but it had to happen that way ndio Biashara ikuwe sawa.
