Daniella Atim, musician Chameleone's wife relocated abroad for her safety as at the time her husband was vying for a political seat about five years ago.
Chameleone now stays alone in Seguku after he acquired a home in the USA and sent his wife Daniella and children to start living there.
In a recent interview with Mambo Mseto, the singer said sending them there was a good thing, but it has come with several challenges and he misses his family all the time.
"It is a big challenge to stay in a long-distance marriage. I break down on shows sometimes," he told Mzazi Willy M Tuva.
Chameleone diverted that he took up the tough decision for his children to have a good future.
"Your dad went through somethings in life so that you can be here. He did not drive a nice car coz he wanted you to go to school, that is a sacrifice. I am doing what my dad did for me to succeed," he said.
In another interview, he said better education was another reason he chose to take his family abroad.
Allegations were that he took them out because of politics. He didn't want his political rivals to use his family to get back at him.
