Aliko Dangote maintains lead as Africa's richest man

Aliko Dangote's company employs more than 11,000 people in West Africa.

• The tycoon's wealth now stands at Sh1.7 trillion  (13.6 billion dollars) in the latest 2023 Forbes ranking, as reported by Nairametrics.

• The Nigerian tycoon is the owner of the Dangote Group.

Forbes, Magazine has released the list of Billionaires found in Africa for the year 2023.

Top on the list is Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote who has maintained his status as Africa's richest man.

According to Nairametrics, the tycoon's wealth has increased to Sh1.7 trillion (13.6 billion dollars) in the newest Forbes ranking for 2023.

Dangote immersed his wealth in the Manufacturing industry and his company employs more than 11,000 people in West Africa.

He owns the Dangote Group - one of the largest conglomerates in Africa, with international operations in BeninGhanaZambia and Togo.

While most of the billionaires are from West Africa, North Africa, and South Africa, Mohammed Dewji  is the only East African on the list.

Dewji has diversified his business in the textile, beverage, and edible oils industries.

He is a Tanzanian billionaire businessman and former politician.
