Talented comedian Nasra Yusuf who is known for her larger-than-life persona with people has recently expressed her sentiments on marriage. She feels like marriage is a scam.
Speaking in an interview with Oga Obinna on the KulaCooler Show, when asked about her thoughts on marriage she stated that marriage is a scam as men will always be men.
"Wanaume ni wale wale, marriage is a scam."
In November 2022, the Churchill comedian made it public that she is no longer married to her long-term husband Director Rashid.
In a heartfelt message that she shared on her Instagram page, she expressed how she had fought for the relationship with her all to the point where she lost her family members, and friends, and got constant criticism from society.
Though she then did not clearly state the reason why the two separated. The two ex-lovers had been together for 5 years. They started their relationship as friends and on 25th April 2021 they tied the knot.
In the interview, Nasra also stated that she does not see any problem with men marrying numerous wives.
"I wouldn't mind if my husband had a second wife, men were born polygamous. Ladies shouldn't mind, the Kenyan constitution has allowed men to marry a second wife. Men can love two women and more at the same time, mimi i can't , nitaconcentrate na wewe moja."
She also revealed that her miscarriage still affects her daily endeavors and she has not yet known how to get through the hurt.
"I don't know how I coped with it , sijui am still coping", Nasra whimpers.
Furthermore, she highlights that comedians in the Kenyan industry lack unity because of the intensity of competition they were exposed to when they were starting up.
"Tulikuwa na platform moja, ukiona mwenzako amepiga show ameuwa , your like aaah me sita air hii Sunday, so mnapata mnachukiana ile design ya huyu akipewa show ataair so jina yake inaenda ikigrow."
