After shirtless Eric Omondi organized a protest outside the parliament buildings over the high cost of living, he took an exclusive interview to clear the air on certain things as well as provide intel on the way forward.

During the interview with Mpasho, he was asked if he is now venturing into activism.

"Mimi unaweza niita activist, clout chaser, comedian, entertainer, whatever you call me does not matter, what matters is tunafightia watu wa Kenya wenye hawana chakula, hawana school fees, hawana rent," Eric shared.

He went on to say that he would not put a title on himself and that what is important to him is what he is fighting for.

With all the things the comedian has fought for, secular artists, gospel, why politics and why now?

Before he cleared the air netizens were allegedly claiming that his agenda was political and he was incited by someone to run this cause.

These theories arose from his earlier engagement with Jimmy Wanjigi as he was campaigning for him during the elections.

"That one I was working for Jimmy Wanjigi and it was public knowledge"

He made it clear that no one incited him to follow the voice of the innocent or fight for the gospel.

"Is it really political, so it is just issue-based," he said.

He termed his fight as Kenyan.

"I am not part of any political outlet whatsoever," he added.

On this, he emphasized avoiding being misread. He is not part of politics or part of a politician or any other political involvement.

"Mimi si UDA, mimi si Azimio, mimi si Jubilee, mimi si ODM"

His agenda is just Kenyan.

"This is a thing Eric Omondi does, so I do not know why it is surprising any Kenyan and why any Kenyan would think that ninapushiwa na anyone," Eric continued.

For him, indeed, people do not have food, indeed, people do not have school fees and it is true that people have not paid rent.

"That I do not need someone to say"

His goal is for the price of fuel to go down, the price of tokens to go down, and for basic needs to be affordable to all.

Just within eight hours after the protest, the government reduced the price of Unga from Sh230 to Sh180.

"How much more can we achieve?" he asked.

The entertainer's happiness and success will come from achieving these goals. If commitment was a person.

This was the first time Eric slept behind bars and it was an interesting experience for him.

He was treated with kindness at the station and slept "kinda well" his only struggle was the mosquitoes.

"Umbu za Central Police Station ni polisi, zinauma different"

He will still continue to fight even after all this. It would have been for nothing if he were to let it go.

The fact that he was barefooted in the scorching sun outside Parliament, got arrested, and arraigned in court, he would feel wasted if all his efforts were to go down the drain.

"Nishachoma, there is no going back"

What is your next step was a question that he was asked during the interview.

He is ready to fight for those who are struggling with basic needs, rent, and do not have a job.

"We are calling upon watu hawana job, watu wako na rent arrears, watu wenye hawana shopping za basic needs, waandikiwe list tupeleke pale State House kwa President very peacefully," he voiced.

The comedian shall not go above the law for this peaceful protest, he will ask for the necessary permissions to access the State House but by any chance is not granted he will walk there peacefully.

Naked or not "A hungry person has no shame"

"When a person is dying of starvation the last thing they think about is dignity or shame, they just think about how do I not die," Eric finalized.
