Kenyan entrepreneur Margaret Nyamumbo who is based in New York City has received a massive investment of Sh44 million into her coffee company.
Margaret Nyamumbo is the founder and CEO of Kahawa 1893, a firm that exports African coffee to America.
“I grew up on my grandfather’s coffee farm in Kenya. We are very proud of the coffee that grows on our soil; unfortunately, farmers don’t always make enough for the delicious coffee that they produce," she said.
The Sh44 million will go towards buying a 5 percent stake in Nyamumbo’s Kahawa 1893.
In the program that aired on ABC Television on Saturday, the Harvard Business School alumni made pitches to investors Mark Cuban, Emma Grede, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, and Lori Greiner.
She stated to the panel that she is passionate about "brewing a coffee revolution" and spreading wealth.
Nyamumbo received praise for how she presented her company to wealthy investors on the reality TV program "Shark Tank" and asked for their financial support.
