South African rapper Casper Nyovest has revealed he won't be attending the mass nor the funeral of fellow rapper AKA.

Many insisted the duo had beef insisting that is why Casper does not want to attend the burial.

The 'Baby Girl' hitmaker says he will be away on a business trip adding that he has no bad blood with the late AKA.

He was replying to a fan who questioned whether he would attend the memorial.

"Unfortunately I’ll be out of the country for work but if I was around I would’ve gone. I would’ve gone to the funeral too. No matter how you look at it, I and Kiernan shared a lot of great moments together and he contributed to my industry so I have to pay my respects. "Responded Casper

In 2022, Casper and AKA had gotten into a physical altercation

At the time the pair were spotted at the same event this weekend where AKA performed his timeless diss track Composure to a crowd filled with his fans, while Cassper Nyovest sat in the crowd. 

Humiliated and looking for redemption, Cassper met AKA outside in an attempt to physically settle the fight. Security quickly stepped in, pulling the pair apart.

South African police recently confirmed that AKA death was an assassination.

KwaZulu-Natal police chief Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said the gunman had approached AKA from behind and shot him at close range in the side of the head.

A second gunman then started firing to deter onlookers from responding to the "hit", he added.

One of these rounds killed AKA's friend, celebrity chef Tibz Motsoane.

The shooting occurred outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban on Friday night.

While police work to establish a full picture of what happened to AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, his father has asked people to stop speculating on social media.

Tony Forbes says the family is focusing on giving their son "a dignified send-off", and he has thanked the many well-wishers whose support is "making it easier to cope".

He has also paid tribute to Motsoane, saying he was "like a brother" to AKA.

No arrests have yet been made.

AKA will be laid to rest in a private provincial ceremony on Saturday 18 February.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, at Sandton convention center with part of the memorial reading.
