Kennedy Murithi officially part ways with NTV after 10 years

Kennedy Murithi joined NTV back in June 2016 after working for QTV as a reporter.

• Murithi who was a Senior Political Affairs journalist at NTV, announced his departure from the Twin Towers placed media house after landing a new job with Tharaka Nithi county government.

• I'll now be Muthomi Njuki's political advisor and will also deal with media relations," the journalist said.

Celebrated media personality Kennedy Murithi has officially ended his relationship with Nation Media Group after 10 years.

Murithi who was a Senior Political Affairs journalist at NTV, announced his departure from the Twin Towers placed media house after landing a new job with Tharaka Nithi county government.

"Today marks my last day at NTV. It has been a good journey. I leave a happy man, knowing I have left a mark in journalism.

“It has been a wonderful 10 years: at Nation, I have grown into the fine journalist I am today. I leave the Twin Towers regrettably. To my colleagues, thank you for being such a great support team,” Kennedy Murithi shared.

The journalist was appointed as the political advisor for Tharaka Nithi county government by Governor Muthomi Njuki.

"I'll now be Muthomi Njuki's political advisor and will also deal with media relations," the journalist said. 

Back in November 2022 the journalist said; “I have just seen the press release just like you have. That’s my name. I have received the message of my appointment. I thank the Governor for this,”.

"I have worked with Governor Njuki closely since 2013. I am happy that he has considered me as one of his advisors,".

Kennedy Murithi joined NTV back in June 2016 after working for QTV as a reporter.

Kennedy is also best remembered for a slight tiff with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka several years back when he told Murithi that 'your name betrays you' after a question the politician did not like.

Kalonzo later apologized to Kennedy. Murithi also had an encounter with Trade CS Moses Kuria.

Kennedy joins a long list of media personalities who've quit their jobs for politics.

Recently, NTV Swahili managing editor and anchor, Mr. Salim Swaleh, was also appointed ICT, e-Government and Public Communication chief officer in Nakuru County.
