Kenyans often advise each other that if you find it hard communicating in English, drop it and speak in your mother tongue.

Kibera's finest, Stevo Simple Boy, is one such Kenyan who has amused his fans with a video of him struggling to speak the King's English.

In the video on his Instagram page, Simple Boy sits at a dining table working on a laptop. He then tries to describe in an American accent how he is getting some work done and that's when hilarity ensues.

"Hi my people, you know I'm busy now, I'm working. I know you guys are berra. Also me, I'm berra. Uh I'm working here right now. I'm planning to do some work then after this I'm going to a show to perform.

At this point, he appears to want to talk Kiswahili as he gestures at the camera confused. 'Uhh I'm going to perform near Eldoret things will be berra," he finishes his speech.

The video has numerous views and hilarious comments.

The singer is not alone in finding it hard to use the foreign language. A few weeks ago, a Nyandarua MCA has been captivating our attention with a few videos of herself in the county assembly addressing other politicians.

In the video, she attempts severally to express herself, making netizens amused. She makes so many grammatical mistakes adding some Kikuyu along the way.

Bongo singers Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize have also struggled to speak in English over the years.
