Patoranking meets CS Ababu Namwamba ahead of private party

The two met to talk on matter's music between Kenya and Nigeria

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie popularly known as Patoranking paid a courtesy call to the new Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Youth, Sports, and Entertainment Ababu Nmwamba on November 16, 2022. 

In a Tweet by the Ministry of sports, the Nigeria artiste paid a visit to the CS in his office in Nairobi.

The two held discussions on matters of music and areas of collaboration between Kenya and Nigerian artistes.

The new CS has been big on changing the entertainment ministry since he got in office.

"The CS, Ababu Namwamba is committed to expanding Kenya's creative industry to a level where artists can comfortably earn a decent living from their creativity," read the tweet.

The celebrated artist is expected to have an invite-only private party here in Kenya.Before his meeting, the 'Suh different' singer had collaborated with Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol on the song 'Melanin'.

In East Africa, he also collaborated with Tanzanian singer Alikiba on the song 'Bwana Mdogo' in 2021 and with Diamond Platnumz on two songs namely; 'Kolo Kolo' in 2022 and 'Love you die' in 2017.

The 'Abule' singer last performed in Kenya as a surprise act at singer Rema's concert at Carnivore grounds back in May 2022.

This visit comes two weeks after the artist got chosen to perform in the Qatar 2022 Fifa WorldCup a chance he got for his song Abule.

Patoranking is in Kenya at a time a section of Kenyan artistes have been against playing foreign songs on Kenyan radio and TV stations.

Top on the list is comedian Eric Omondi who has been pushing for play 75% Kenyan music.
