Tanzanian songbird Zuchu has been nominated for the MTV European Music Awards (EMA) awards under the category Best African Act.

The African queen Zuchu becomes the first female artiste in East Africa to be nominated for the coveted award.

Reacting to this win, an excited Zuchu put up a post thanking her fans attributing her success to them.

"Tanzania stand up your girl is nominated on the @mtvema God is good niseme asante ni kwa sababu yenu ndo mimi niko hapo nawapenda sana .I’m coming back with a better caption cos right now am still shaking let me calm down first,"  read a post from Zuchu. 

WCB Wasafi also put up another post congratulating their signee for the well deserved win. They used the opportunity to also drum support for the singer.

Reacting to the same her boss Diamond Platnumz under the Wasafi Label has gone on to congratulate the beautiful songbird on  the WCB Instagram page.

"Voting Time, Let's Goooooooooo," he celebrated.

The EMA awards is an event held annually to honor artists and music in pop culture and is sponsored by Paramount International Networks.

This year's event will be held in Düsseldorf on 13 November 2022. 

To get Zuchu to win all you need to do is vote for her via the official MTV page.

Under this category (Best African Act) are also;

The Sukari hitmaker has been pitted against Nigeria's Ayra, Tems,  Burna Boy, Ghana's Black Sherif and, South Africa's Musa Keys.

Last year among the East African nominee was Tanzanian bongo artist Diamond Platnumz who lost the award to Nigerian star Wizkid for Best African Act.

Other African representatives included South Africa’s Focalistic, Tems (Nigeria) and Ghana’s Amaarae.

The Gala for the 2021 awards was graced by CEO of  Next Level Music (NML) Rayvanny who became the first African act to ever perform at the MTV EMAs main event.
