Citizen TV's news anchor Lillian Muli was forced by her late father to get into media career.

Muli wanted to study law just like her father who was an advocate of the high court.

Muli describes herself as an introvert but says people think that she is out there.

She said she stumbled on the media and that has defined her space and her life for two decades now.

"My late dad was an advocate of the high court, later was in a law firm that he co-owned with his partners and I looked up to him so much. He was elegant and I always wanted to do law," she said.

Muli said she participated in school debates to prepare for future law studies but little did she know her father had different plans for her.

She says her father advised her that her personality was not fit for her to do law.

"First forward, he said I would not do law and flog marched me to Daystar, got the admissions forms and the rest is history," she said.

"I did electronic media communication and that is how I ended up in the media. It's a good thing he saw that the potential was there. I still can't help and wonder what type of lawyer I would have made.My interests have since diverted."

Lilian Muli started her career in 2005 at Standard Media's KTN where she interned in the production department.

She described herself as an introvert but says that she has grown a thick skin.

"I have been misunderstood many times but I understand it comes with the industry that we are coz for some of us are totally drama free and then there are some of us who just draw that type of attention. I feel like I have a thing," she said.

"I was so shy initially in this industry but I learned to be tough but deep down there is a very easy going person that wants to be left alone."

In another life, she said she would still do media.
