Diamond's sister blames pandemic over her failed marriage

Diamond Platnumz’s sister, Esma Khan has in the past admitted that marriage life was too much for her.

The businesswoman said the timing for her marriage was wrong as she did not take time to learn her man.

Speaking to Wasafi, she said she rushed things.

"Labda nilikurupuka, nilikua na haraka. Sikujipa mda wa kufikiria je, ninayeolewa naye ni sahihi kwangu?" (I was in a hurry, I didn’t give myself time to reflect on the person I was getting married to.)

She went on to blame corona for her decisions;

"Kipindi kile kilikua cha corona, stress na nini. Mtu akija unaona kama zali la mentali. Sitaki kurudia makosa niliyofanya kipindi hicho cha nyuma."

(It was corona time and I was stressed, when he came, I thought I won a jackpot. I don’t want to make wrong decisions that I had made before.)

Esma said right now she’s very careful with the men she gets into a relationship with adding that she still yearns to get married.

"Mimi ni mwanamke nahitaji kuolewa, nahitaji hesima yangu. Kidini, ndoa ni lazima.” (I am a woman who needs to get married, I need my respect back. Religiously, its a must for me to get married)

Esma says she’s being hit on by many men.

"I am dating right now and I feel like he’s the man of my dreams."

Esma advised women to be careful of men who ask to get married to them right after they meet.

In another interview last week, Esma told Wasafi TV that she is now dating but wants her relationship private.

"Yes, I am in a relationship. But my relationship right now is not for social media like before," she said.

She described her man as the smartest man ever.

"He is hardworking and he is always smart and his looks are to die for. He is also a friend," she said adding that she is ready to spend her entire life together with him. My next one will not last three months like the previous one. I can't date someone who can't lift me up."
