Nigerian singer Davido has come out to deny claims that he will be performing in Kenya this month.

This news was revealed on the Twitter page of his manager, Bobo F. Ajudua who laughed at those rumours stating flatly, "Kenya show? A different Davido o."

Before adding, "Really hope that no one is out there purchasing tickets."

This news comes a few weeks after many of Davido's Kenyan fans went into a frenzy after the news went out that he would be performing on the 21st of this month.

"This May 21st we present to you, OBO!!! Baddest Boy himself @davido More details dropping this week!! Are you ready for #DavidoLiveInKenya ???" Read a post by 2ic Entertainment.

Many Kenyans were unhappy with the news and called out 2ic for what they felt was an elaborate lie.

A fan called Brown went all in calling 2ic garden tools saying, "M*laya nyinyi 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼😪......yani mliamua kutuchezea akili."

It makes sense that Kenyans would be disappointed at this news considering that Davido's brand and catalog have increased significantly ever since his last appearance in Kenya.

The 'If' singer has performed twice in Kenya and also held club appearances. In 2015, fans described his performance as 'impressive' but three years later, the singer came back for the 30 Billion concert and had improved considerably.

Davido is rated one of the richest singers in the continent. Forbes approximated his wealth to be Ksh 4.6 billion.

Davido is however not the only West African star touted to thrill Kenyans this month. Rema, another Nigerian artist is set to perform at the Mwanaume Ni Effort Fest on 7th May.

Let's hope that 'Woman' singer's concert actually takes place.
