Betty Kyallo eulogizes Waihiga Mwaura's sister Gathoni in beautiful TBT photos

• Gathy passed away on April 14, 2022. The cause of her death has not been made public.

In a touching tribute posted in the local dailies, the family described Gathoni as the light in their lives.

"Our last born, our princess, the light and joy of our lives," the family describes the bubbly lady, who died on April 14, 2022.

The family is set to hold a funeral service on Thursday, 21st April 2022 at CITAM Valley Road at 10 AM.

She will thereafter be laid to rest at the Lang'ata cemetery in Nairobi County."

Before her death, Gathoni was a trained media professional, gifted actress, singer and teacher.

She started working while in university for institutions such as ILRI, Beth International, Raiser Resource Group. Balozi Productions Limited, Potterhouse School and NPAS.

She was the lastborn daughter of Senior Advocate David Mwaure Waihiga and Lady Justice Anna Ngibuini Mwaure and a sister to Waihiga Mwaura, Joyce Omondi Waihiga and Ngibuini Mwaura.

The family has also appealed to wellwishers to stand with them by sending contributions to 0722787312, in the name of 'Miriam Njuguna.'

Gathoni's death was first announced by Citizen TV presenter Joyce Omondi, who was her sister-in-law.

"I have begun and erased this first sentence more times than I can count because I feel numb and speechless.

It's incredibly difficult trying to accept that our tender-hearted witty, beautiful little sister, Gathoni, is suddenly no longer with us. Never had we imagined such a loss."
