Losing parents at a tender age can be traumatizing.

It changes the course of many people's lives, most end up homeless while some find themselves in children's homes better known as orphanages.

Below are prominent celebrities who grew up in such homes.

Terence Creative

Lawrence Macharia is among the celebs who grew up in an orphanage.

Having lost his parents at a tender age, Macharia was being taken care of by his grandmother.

At some point, he had to be taken in by Mully Children's home, where he stayed until he attained 18 years.

It is while there that he met his ex-wife and mother to his two daughters.

Bahati

Kevin Mbuvi also grew up at a children's home (ABC Orphanage in Mathare) after losing his mum at a tender age.

Speaking about the loss, Bahati said he felt like the world had come to an end after the demise of his mum.

At the time his dad was also not well off so they were living from hand to mouth.

Steve Job

The late Chairman and CEO of Apple Inc were surrendered and adopted after birth.

This is because his paternal grandfather did not want Job's mum to get married at the time.

He was the first to be elected in a fully representative democratic election. He is known as a revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist.
